Welcome!

My name is Mojtaba. I grew up amidst war in Afghanistan, but I have always been curious to know how other nations succeed. As an undergrad, I once wrote an essay about countering corruption, for which I received an award from local leaders. That inspired me ever since to become a scholar to make world a better place. With this motivation, I earned scholarships to study in Germany and soon became fascinated with research on aid and the operations of nonprofit organizations. Specifically, the role people play in operations sparked my curiosity to study how the dynamics of human behavior can be improved to solve complex challenges within groups, organizations, and nations. My data-driven research has appeared in top-ranked scientific journals like "Production and Operations Management" and "Journal of Organizational Behavior."

Engagements

As the project manager of research institute on leadership and operations in humanitarian aid (www.riloha.org), I regularly organize panel discussions on intersection of behavioral science and operations management. I present behavioral operations solutions to industry practitioners.

Awards and Honors

I am the recipient of Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung's doctoral funding that amounts to 45.500 euros (+500 scientists competed). Previously, I was also awarded competitive DAAD and KLU scholarships.

coding advanced regression-based statistical techniques and data visualization via Stata, Python, Excel, and SPSS
writing successful proposals to receive research funding, and
graduating summa cum laude (the highest distinction) with a bachelor of business administration in accounting and master of science in management.
